Home Heating Services

Your home’s heating system is the heart and veins of your home. It not only determines your comfort but it is also commonly the home’s largest monthly operational expense.

In addition, inefficient fuel-based systems often make up over 40% of a household’s carbon footprint.

In New York, where we have a long heating season, and a short cooling season, your heating system is (in our opinion!) the most important piece of equipment in the home.

Who we are

N&N Heating & Cooling has 10+ years experience in residential home heating systems. We help you design, install and service your home heating system so it will keep you and your family comfortable throughout the heating season.

Our service area

Our company is based in Bedford Hills, NY and we work around all of Westchester County including Bedford, Pound Ridge, Katonah, Bedford Hills, Somers, Chappaqua, South Salem, and more.

Heating Services for your home

Because of the price per KWH and the price per gallon of oil/gas in our area, we look to minimize fuel based system consumption and utilize clean heat energy efficient heat pumps.

Existing vs new heating systems & Air Conditioners

Depending on the age of your heating system and location of radiators, vents in the home, we work with homeowners to achieve their goal of comfort in all rooms and improved efficiency of the heating system. We strongly recommend Mitsubishi Electric Hyper Heat Equipment because of the reliability and ability to produce heat efficiently at below freezing temperatures.

Hybrid or 2-in-1 heating and cooling systems

Heat pumps are 2-1 systems, meaning the same piece of equipment does both heating and air conditioning. If your air conditioning equipment is old and will need to be replaced, more often than not it makes much more sense to replace the air conditioner with a heat pump.

Controlled remotely by an app on your phone

Our homes heating system can now be controlled from your phone. This is very convenient for when you go on vacation and want to set the thermostat temperature back or control the temperature of a vacation rental. The thermostat set-point has a major impact on energy usage so the ability to check it from your phone provides peace of mind, in particular for those who travel away from home frequently.

 Our process explained

Interested in working with N&N Heating and Cooling on the heating system in your home? Want the BEST heating system for your home? Do you prioritize comfort, efficiency and long lasting product quality?

Amazing, we can’t wait to hear from you!

Here’s an overview of what it’s like to work with us and what you can express once we begin the inquiry process.

1.

Initial inquiry and speak with our team

Once we receive your initial inquiry, our team will get in touch with you directly to discuss the project you have in mind or point you in the right direction. We will learn more about what HVAC system you currently have, what needs to be fixed, any new system that you’re considering etc. If we are a good fit to work together, we will schedule a visit to meet on site.

2.

Home walk through

We will meet on site to review your home’s existing HVAC system and floor plan. After the walkthrough is finished we prepare a detailed quotation for your review. If this is a complex home with lots of unique areas, we may schedule a second visit to ensure we don’t miss anything before preparing the quotation.

3.

Formal quote and payment schedule

We will send you a detailed estimate including the equipment specifications, rebate amounts, and payment schedule. If you are interested in financing your system we have low interest financing available through NYSERDA’s clean heat program.

4.

Initial deposit

We require a $500 deposit to file all necessary permits.

5.

Heat load calculation

After the deposit is received, we will perform a Manual J calculation. This is a heat load calculation to ensure the we size the appropriate amount of BTU’s for each part of the home. For example older homes, or homes with lots of large windows and/or uninsulated stone/concrete walls will require more BTU’s in those areas.

6.

Project and work phase

One we receive our HVAC permit, we will deliver the equipment and begin our work. We plan very carefully and communicate daily with the homeowner on our progress and targeted finish date. After the system is installed, we will walk you through its functions and best practices for operating the thermostat and cleaning the filters. As you learn to live with the new system we stay in touch to make sure everything is working as intended.

7.

File rebate paperwork

As a NYS registered clean heat contractor, we handle all the rebate paperwork for you and deduct it right off the invoice. We take responsibilty for collecting the rebates and it is not the homeowners responsibility. Currently the NYSEG rebate is $1,000 to $1,200 per 10,000 BTU’s of clean heat installed. For homes over 3,000 square feet, the rebate savings are often over $10,000 USD.

In addition there is the 25C federal tax credit. Simply send our paid invoice to your accountant and you will receive a $2,000 tax credit when you file your 2024 return.

8.

Worry free maintenance plans

All mechancial parts require maintenance and an HVAC system is no different. Our Mitsubishi Electric equipment installs are backed by 12 year equipment warranties. In addition we offer labor warranties and low cost maintenance plans where we service the system bi-annually. Once before heating season and once before cooling season. The cost of the maintenance plan is dependent on the amount equipment in the home.

3 benefits to heating with heat pumps

A comfortable stable heat

Rather than a gas furnace which blasts out hot air then turns off, a heat pump runs slow and steady providing a quieter and less dry heat.

Oil and gas alternative

The experience of relying on a third party gas company that delivers propane or oil from a diesel truck to your home can be frustrating and not reliable.

Major Savings

In Westchester Country, most of our heating days fall between outdoor temperatures of 17F and 47F. During this range heat pumps are on average 2x to 3x times more efficient than a fossil fuel system. Heat pumps heat effectively all the way down to -13F but the reality is we have very few days that are that cold.

We choose Mitsubishi Electric because of reliability and performance

We spec Mitsubishi Electric equipment because of its performance at low temperatures and its reliability. Simply put, Mitsubishi Electric makes the most durable equipment on the market. Their compressors are built to last and it shows in the data because third party home service warranty companies offer lower maintenance pricing on Mitsubishi Electric compared to any other brand.
